Oceania Mission Fields Begin Lent Journey by Meditating on the Sufferings and Death of Jesus

The mission fields across Oceania are preparing to embark on the 40-day Lent journey, beginning on March 5, 2025, and culminating on Easter Sunday, April 20. This sacred season is a time of repentance, reflection, and renewal, as believers unite in meditating on the sufferings and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Lent will begin with a half-day fast on Ash Wednesday, marking the start of a period dedicated to spiritual discipline and devotion. From Monday to Saturday, participants will commit 20 minutes daily to focused prayer, study Lenten devotionals, and write reflections. To accommodate time zone differences, each mission field will organize its own group prayer schedule while maintaining unity in spirit. The journey will conclude with another half-day fast on Good Friday, April 18, as believers prepare to commemorate Christ’s sacrifice.

Throughout Lent, members across the region will meditate on the Passion of Christ as recorded in John 13–19. By reflecting on Jesus’ suffering and death, they will seek a deeper understanding of His boundless love and redemptive work on the cross. It is hoped that this time of spiritual contemplation will renew faith and strengthen devotion to the Lord.

The Lent journey will lead into a regional Easter retreat from April 18 to 20 at Oceania OC. Attendance will be limited to selected leaders and committed Bible students who demonstrate spiritual maturity and active participation. While the retreat theme is yet to be announced, it will serve as a time of revival and deeper engagement with the Gospel.

As the Oceania mission fields enter this sacred season, leaders encourage all members to walk the path of Lent with sincere hearts, seeking renewal and a closer relationship with Christ through prayer, fasting, and meditation on His suffering and sacrifice.
