26 Jan 2024, Deakin University students celebrated Australian Day with a joyous BBQ fellowship at Wattle Park. The occasion was marked not only by the national festivities but also by bidding farewell to Brother Tim, who is set to return to China tomorrow.
In his final moments with the community, Tim extended a warm invitation to two of his Christian friends, creating a meaningful bond by sharing grace together. Among the attendees were Serena and Stanley, residents living just 15 minutes away from New Hope Community Church.
This Australian Day celebration evolved into more than just a casual gathering. Alongside familiar faces like Toni, Ben, and Tim, Serena and Stanley joined the church fellowship for the first time. The spirit of togetherness carried on into the night with a prayer meeting, where everyone, old and new, shared their struggles and prayer topics.
During the gathering, P.Taylor shared insights from John 14:11-14, emphasizing Jesus’s encouragement to have faith and believe in the ability to do greater things. “It’s been a long time since we’ve experienced such warm fellowship, and it was truly refreshing to witness new faces being added to our church family throughout the week,” remarked Pastor Daniella.
